Buyer's Guide — Snow Blades

Collapse
Snow blades angle and push snow efficiently in spaces where box pushers can't maneuver — around equipment, along building walls, through gates, and on irregular surfaces. Available in 6–10-foot widths with hydraulic angle adjustment, they're the most common first snow attachment on Canadian farms and acreages. The hydraulic angle function is the key advantage over a fixed straight blade — you can work snow to either side without stopping to repin, which matters when you're clearing around obstacles in tight yards.

Sizing Guide

72–78-inch blades fit most mid-frame machines and handle standard farm yard and acreage clearing work. 84–96-inch blades increase coverage for wider lanes and open areas. On compact machines, stay at 72 inches or under to maintain visibility and avoid overloading the coupler. Hydraulic angle is worth the cost over manual repin — the time savings in a real clearing operation adds up quickly.

Hydraulic Flow

Hydraulic angle requires standard auxiliary flow (10–18 GPM). Manual repin straight blades need nothing. If your machine lacks auxiliary hydraulics, you're limited to non-powered angle blades — functional, but much slower to reposition during clearing operations.

Most Common Mistake

Using a snow blade on a large commercial lot where a box pusher would be more productive. Angle blades are ideal for tight clearing around obstacles. On open flat lots, a box pusher moves three to four times the snow per pass. Know which job you're buying for.

Snow blades angle and push snow efficiently where pushers can't stack. Available in 6–10 foot widths with hydraulic angle adjustment, they're a common first snow attachment on Canadian farms and acreages. All products listed here are available in Canada.
