Sizing Guide
60-inch models suit urban lots, tight residential work, and areas with obstacles. 72 inches is the production standard for most residential and commercial landscaping work — balances coverage with maneuverability. 84-inch models increase production on open areas but need more machine weight to stay planted on side slopes. Match width to your most common job type, not your largest occasional job.
Hydraulic Flow
Soil conditioners are standard-flow attachments on all current models — one of the few rotating tillage attachments that doesn't require high-flow. Typically requires 12–20 GPM. Compatible with virtually any mid-frame or large-frame skid steer with auxiliary hydraulics. Excellent attachment choice for standard-flow machines that can't run mulchers or rotary cutters.

Harley commands premium prices new and used — factor that into the buy-vs-used calculation.
Most Common Mistake
Confusing soil conditioners with deep-till equipment. Soil conditioners work the top 3–4 inches. They finish-prep — they don't deep-till compacted subsoil. Running a soil conditioner on heavy construction fill or un-broken hardpan damages the rotor and delivers poor results. Rough-rip with a bucket tooth bar or subsoiler first, then finish with the soil conditioner.
Soil conditioners use a hydraulically driven drum with carbide-tipped teeth to break up compacted soil, remove clumps, and leave a smooth surface ready for seeding or sod. They combine tillage, leveling, and light debris removal in a single pass. Working widths typically run 60–72 inches. These are standard-flow attachments on most skid steers.
