HLA Hydraulic Rotary Broom 72-Inch Skid Steer Attachment

Overview

HLA's 72-inch hydraulic rotary angle broom uses 26-inch diameter poly/steel wafers and a unique lateral and forward float to follow uneven surfaces. The broom angles 30 degrees left and right and includes an electric selector valve with hoses to auxiliary outlets. Reversible rotation for sweeping away from walls. Direct motor drive. Requires 12-20 GPM. Made in Canada and available through TAG Equipment and other HLA dealers.

Is This Right For You?

Buy if

  • You need a fast, wide sweep of light debris on open hard surfaces
  • Speed and coverage area matter more than containment

Skip if

  • You need the debris to go a specific direction — a rotary broom's discharge is less directional than an angle broom
  • Fine material on wet surfaces may not clear as effectively

Also consider

  • Angle broom for directional sweeping and windrow control
  • Pickup broom if material collection matters
Machine Compatibility

Compatible with all skid steer brands and compact track loaders via universal SSQA quick attach. Mid to large-frame machines (S450–S750 class) are the best fit for this width.

Care & Maintenance

  • Inspect broom fill length after every 20 hours of use — bristles below minimum length drag rather than sweep, waste time, and mask the fact that you need a replacement
  • Clean debris wrapped in the drum core after every extended session — wire, hair, and root cause drum imbalance and stress the hydraulic motor bearings
  • Grease drum bearing end caps monthly during active use periods
  • Check hydraulic motor connections and angle cylinder fittings weekly — broom motors work hard and connection fittings loosen over time
  • Store on end or off the ground so bristle fill doesn't take a permanent set under drum weight — brooms stored drum-down develop flat spots in the fill that affect sweep quality

How to Connect

  1. Attach broom frame using Bob-Tach
  2. Connect hydraulic couplers for rotation motor
  3. Verify rotation direction (forward-sweep or reverse-sweep per job)
  4. Adjust broom angle if applicable — most have manual tilt adjust
Safety NoteBrooms are typically standard-flow (10-18 GPM). Angle brooms can swivel — set angle before engaging rotation.
