Virnig V60 84-Inch Power Rake for Skid Steers
Overview
Virnig Manufacturing's V60 84-inch power rake is a hydraulic rotary attachment for large-scale seedbed preparation and commercial lawn renovation on full-size skid steers. Part of Virnig's V60 high-flow series, it delivers more rotor torque for breaking up harder soils and more demanding ground conditions. The 84-inch working width reduces pass count on large sites. Available through authorized Canadian Virnig dealers.

Is This Right For You?
Buy if
- Your machine runs high-flow hydraulics and you're doing large-scale site prep or commercial landscaping
- You need maximum tine speed and ground penetration for heavily compacted or rocky soil
- Production rate matters — high-flow power rakes process more square footage per hour on the right machine
Skip if
- Your skid steer doesn't have high-flow — you won't get performance gains and may stress the hydraulics
- Residential or small-lot work — standard flow handles those sites fine at lower cost
Also consider
- Standard power rake for machines without high-flow auxiliary
- Soil conditioner if you also need deep tilling and full seedbed integration
Compatible with all skid steer brands and compact track loaders via universal SSQA quick attach. Mid to large-frame machines (S450–S750 class) are the best fit for this width.
About Virnig in Canada
Virnig Manufacturing is a Minnesota-based producer known for consistent build quality and a wide model range. Their attachments ship to Canadian dealers regularly and are a common sight on Western and Prairie job sites.
Care & Maintenance
- Inspect rotor teeth after each use — chipped or missing carbide dramatically reduces grading quality and throws the rotor off balance
- Grease rotor shaft bearing housings at each end after every 8 hours of use — most premature bearing failures trace back to insufficient lubrication intervals
- Clean packed soil from rotor teeth and the housing after every job — built-up soil throws the rotor out of balance and restricts rotation
- Replace worn teeth in matched sets — mixing old and new teeth across the rotor causes uneven cutting and vibration that stresses the drive
- Inspect hydraulic motor drive connections and belt tension (if belt-driven) weekly during active season
How to Connect
- Attach frame using Bob-Tach
- Connect hydraulic rotor circuit
- Adjust rotor depth by lowering carefully — engage at surface before penetrating soil
- Set material deflector angle if applicable
