- Grease all hydraulic cylinder pin fittings before every use session — dry pins accelerate wear in the cylinder bores and cause premature side-loading
- Inspect the cutting edge for wear or deformation after hard use — replace bolt-on edges when worn to avoid transferring impact to the blade frame
- Check hydraulic coupler connections for leaks weekly — dozer blade circuits cycle frequently and coupler seals wear faster than on less-cycled attachments
- Inspect tilt and angle cylinder rod seals for leaks after use in abrasive or sandy soil — grit scoring a rod seal causes accelerating internal leakage
- Clean the blade face and frame before storage — mud pockets hold moisture against bare steel and cause rust pitting during off-season storage
