ASV/Terex Skid Steer Attachments: Posi-Track Compatibility Guide

ASV Posi-Track machines have a loyal following in wet-ground Canadian markets for a reason: low ground pressure, strong flotation, and a standard SSQA coupler that accepts the same third-party attachments as the rest of the industry. Here's what you need to know before buying attachments for an RT-30, RT-40, RT-50, RT-75, RT-95, or RT-120.

ASV Quick Attach — SSQA Confirmed

ASV Posi-Track machines use the Standard Skid Steer Quick Attach (SSQA) interface. That means universal skid steer attachments mount directly to ASV machines without an adapter plate. If an attachment is sold as universal SSQA, it fits an ASV RT-series machine.

This is true across the current ASV compact track loader lineup and also across most later Terex-badged machines that were built on ASV platform heritage. Mechanically, this is an open-market attachment platform. You are not locked into OEM attachments.

Bottom line: ASV Posi-Track uses SSQA. Third-party buckets, forks, grapples, augers, trenchers, snow tools, and mulchers all mount directly as long as they are built for standard skid steer quick attach. Compatibility questions on ASV are about flow and machine size — not the coupler.

Hydraulic Flow Specs by Model

Hydraulics are where ASV buyers need to pay close attention. The compact RT-30, RT-40, and RT-50 are excellent small-machine platforms, but they do not have the hydraulic headroom for high-demand attachments. Mid-size and large-frame models add more flow, and true high-flow capability appears only on selected models.

RT-120120 hp3,700+ lbs~30 GPM~40+ GPM (option)~3,480 PSILarge high-output CTL

The RT-75 is the important dividing line in the ASV lineup. At 21.6 GPM standard flow it handles all normal hydraulic attachments comfortably — augers, grapples, trenchers, sweepers, power brooms. But high-flow is not part of the base machine, and many RT-75s on the used market are not set up for demanding mulcher applications. The RT-95 and RT-120 are the models to target if high-flow work is part of your plan.

Mulcher buyers take note: true high-flow capability varies by ASV model and by the specific machine configuration. Do not buy an ASV assuming it can run a mulcher because it is a "big track machine." Confirm the exact GPM output and whether the high-flow package is installed before ordering any forestry or heavy brush-cutting attachment.

ASV Posi-Track Model Breakdown

Compact Posi-Track Models

RT-30, RT-40, RT-50

ASV RT-30 / RT-40

Very compact Posi-Track machines for tight spaces
ROC: 665–930 lbsHP: 25–37 hpFlow: ~10–11.5 GPM

The RT-30 and RT-40 sit closer to the mini-loader end of the market than full-size skid steers. They are useful for light landscaping, backyard access, and compact site work where ground pressure matters but full-size capacity does not. These are niche machines.

Attachment sweet spot: Small buckets, narrow pallet forks, light augers, low-flow sweepers, landscape prep tools sized for mini and small-CTL use. These are not machines for heavy pallet handling or large hydraulic tools.

Important: Verify attachment weight as carefully as flow on these small ASVs. A full-size skid steer attachment may mount physically but overwhelm the machine's capacity.

ASV RT-50

Compact Posi-Track CTL — turf & landscape specialist
ROC: ~1,000 lbsHP: 49.5 hpFlow: ~14 GPM

The RT-50 is ASV's compact-frame Posi-Track CTL. Low ground pressure and turf-safe rubber tracks make it the machine of choice for landscape contractors, golf course support, and soft-ground operations where wheeled machines would cause damage. Standard flow only — no high-flow option.

Attachment sweet spot: 54"–60" bucket (light material), landscape rakes, angle brooms, snow pushers, compact grapples, standard auger drives. Best deployments are turf, finish grading, and soft-ground work.

Not compatible: Mulchers, commercial snow blowers, rotary cutters — no high-flow capability.

Mid-Size and Large Posi-Track Models

RT-75, RT-95, RT-120

ASV RT-75

Mid-frame CTL, 21.6 GPM standard flow
ROC: 2,300 lbsHP: 74 hpFlow: 21.6 GPM

The RT-75 is one of the most practical ASV models for Canadian operators who need flotation and a full-size machine without stepping into the highest purchase cost. At 21.6 GPM it comfortably runs the standard attachment catalog. This is the machine many buyers land on for mixed land management work.

Attachment sweet spot: 66" GP bucket, grapple, pallet forks, trenchers, post drivers, augers, brooms, snow pushers, and grading attachments. It is a strong standard-flow machine.

Limitation: do not assume mulcher compatibility. Base RT-75 machines are not true high-flow forestry platforms. Verify the individual machine if your application is at the upper end of hydraulic demand.

ASV RT-95

Large CTL with available high-flow
ROC: 3,500 lbsHP: 95 hpFlow: ~23–25 / ~35–40 GPM

The RT-95 is the point where ASV becomes a serious high-demand attachment carrier. Large lift capacity, strong hydraulic output, and ASV's trademark low ground pressure make it a favourite in wet or soft conditions where a traditional CTL still feels heavy.

Attachment sweet spot: 72" bucket, heavy grapples, large augers, commercial snow tools, and brush mulchers if equipped with the high-flow package. This is a credible contractor machine for forestry edge cleanup and utility work in poor ground.

ASV RT-120

Large-frame high-output Posi-Track
ROC: 3,700+ lbsHP: 120 hpFlow: ~30 / 40+ GPM

The RT-120 is ASV's most capable machine and the one to target for sustained mulching, commercial clearing, and other high-horsepower work. If your operation needs low ground pressure but also demands serious hydraulic performance, this is the answer in the ASV lineup.

Attachment sweet spot: full-size commercial mulchers, cold planers, large post drivers, heavy stump grinders, high-capacity snow blowers, and large earthmoving buckets. For most acreage owners it is overkill. For contractors in tough spring or muskeg conditions, it makes sense.

Why ASV Excels in Canadian Soft Ground

ASV built its reputation on undercarriage design. The Posi-Track system uses a suspended rubber track setup that produces exceptionally low ground pressure compared with conventional compact track loaders. That characteristic matters more in Canada than it does in many drier US regions.

Specific Canadian cases where ASV tends to shine:

ASV's real advantage: it is not just "a track machine." It is a very low-ground-pressure track machine. If you routinely work in soft or wet conditions, that difference can be more important than small differences in horsepower between brands.

Attachment Compatibility by Type

Buckets

Bucket width should track machine width and operating capacity:

Grapples and Pallet Forks

All ASV RT-series models from RT-50 upward handle compact or full-size grapples and pallet forks as long as the attachment weight matches the machine. RT-75, RT-95, and RT-120 are excellent grapple platforms because the low ground pressure lets operators work in brush, slash, or wet conditions without chewing up the site. Root grapples, brush grapples, and bucket grapples all work on standard-flow hydraulics.

Augers and Trenchers

ASV machines are well-suited to auger work because the track platform offers excellent stability and traction in loose or wet soil. Standard auger drives work on every model, but practical capability scales with machine size:

Trenchers are a natural fit for RT-75 and above. The machine's traction helps keep the attachment steady while the chain works. Standard-flow trenchers fit RT-75 well; heavy trenchers requiring high flow belong on RT-95 and RT-120.

Mulchers and Forestry Tools

This is where buyers need discipline. Plenty of used ASVs get advertised as forestry-ready because they are tracked and look aggressive. That is not enough. Mulchers require real hydraulic flow and often a case drain line depending on model. The rule of thumb:

Snow and Grading Tools

Snow pushers, snow blades, landplanes, and power rakes are excellent fits for ASV because the undercarriage floats over softer seasonal surfaces without cutting them up. This matters in spring thaw conditions and on gravel drives that are not fully firm. The RT-75 in particular is a strong grading and snow-management machine.

Float Mode and Grading Attachments

Newer ASV machines include standard float mode, and this matters more than many attachment buyers realize. Float mode lets the lift arms follow ground contour instead of forcing the attachment edge down. For grading attachments — landplanes, box blades, power rakes, snow blades, and even some buckets — float mode makes the machine easier to run smoothly.

On ASV, float mode pairs especially well with the suspended undercarriage. The machine already rides more softly over uneven terrain than many CTLs. With float engaged, grading attachments track surface contours more naturally and produce a more even finish without operator overcorrection.

What Works Best on ASV

Works especially well: grapples, pallet forks, augers, trenchers, snow pushers, power brooms, landplanes, and grading attachments. ASV's traction and flotation help these tools perform well in poor conditions.

Needs verification: mulchers, forestry cutters, cold planers, and any attachment that wants 30+ GPM. Verify high-flow spec, case drain requirements, and machine cooling capacity before purchase.

Won't work or is a bad match: full-size heavy attachments on RT-30/RT-40, or any high-flow forestry tool on a base RT-75 or smaller machine. Physical fit does not equal practical compatibility.

ASV Dealers in Canada

ASV, Gehl, and Mustang all live under the Manitou umbrella today, and in Canada that means dealer overlap is common. The network is thinner than Bobcat or Cat, but it is workable in the right regions.

Canadian ASV support often overlaps with Gehl/Manitou dealer coverage, including some independent equipment dealers and some Cervus Equipment locations. This shared network can actually help parts support because ASV owners are not relying on a tiny standalone channel.

Still, dealer proximity matters for ASV ownership. These machines have specialized undercarriage components, and while their strengths are real, you want a realistic plan for filters, track parts, and undercarriage service. Before buying, call the nearest dealer and ask about:

Used ASV and Former Terex Models

ASV's brand history overlaps with Terex in ways that matter in the used market. You will often see older Terex compact track loaders that trace back to ASV engineering and undercarriage design. These can be attractive purchases if priced correctly, but buyers should separate three things: current ASV parts support, Terex-era machine age, and actual machine condition.

What to check on a used ASV or Terex-derived machine:

Used ASVs can be excellent value for operators in the right ground conditions, because buyers who don't understand the platform sometimes underprice them relative to what the machine can actually do. If your work is in BC coastal soils, northern Ontario muskeg, or persistent spring mud, ASV's strengths are not theoretical — they show up every day.
