TMG-SBH60 9 foot skid steer backhoe attachment

Overview

The TMG-SBH60 is the larger TMG skid steer backhoe attachment, built for 30-100 HP loaders and supplied with a 15-inch digging bucket. The 9-foot class reach and 180-degree boom swing make it useful for drainage work, small utility cuts, irrigation, landscaping, and farm excavation where a skid steer backhoe can replace a second machine for occasional digging.

Is This Right For You?

Buy if

  • You want more reach than a compact backhoe attachment but still want to use your skid steer carrier
  • Your work includes short trenches, drainage cuts, landscaping excavation, and occasional utility work

Skip if

  • You need production trenching speed - use a trencher for long continuous runs
  • You regularly dig below the attachment's reach or need tight excavation control beside buildings

Also consider

  • TMG-SBH55 if your machine is smaller or the 12-inch bucket is enough
  • Chain trencher for long utility lines
  • Compact excavator for daily excavation work
Machine Compatibility

Best suited to mid-frame and larger skid steers with universal quick attach. Confirm machine ROC and hydraulic flow before buying because the attachment weight sits forward of the coupler.

About TMG Industrial in Canada

TMG Industrial imports and distributes a broad range of construction attachments from its Canadian warehouses, offering competitive pricing with delivery across Canada. A popular choice for contractors who want solid value without long lead times.

Care & Maintenance

  • Inspect chain teeth after every use — worn teeth slow penetration dramatically and increase drive motor load; a full day's work can dull a chain in abrasive soil
  • Lubricate the drive chain and boom sprockets before each use and again after every 4 hours of continuous trenching
  • Check the boom bar for cracking or deformation after work in rocky or abrasive conditions — boom cracks propagate quickly under the bending loads of trenching
  • Clean soil from the drive motor cooling fins and chain case after summer use — compacted soil on the motor causes overheating on long cuts
  • Store the chain with teeth protected from ground contact — resting a chain on carbide tips on concrete chips the teeth before you've even used it

How to Connect

  1. Attach trencher boom using Bob-Tach
  2. Connect high-flow hydraulic couplers
  3. Test chain tension and direction before cutting
  4. Call 811 and verify all utilities located before first cut
Safety NoteCanada-wide: call 811 before you dig. Hydraulic trenchers may need 20-35 GPM depending on rock hardness.
